สุขภาพจิต เป็นองค์ประกอบหนึ่งของสุขภาพดังนิยามขององค์การอนามัยโลกที่ให้ความหมายสุขภาพที่ต้องมีภาวะสมบูรณ์พร้อมทั้งร่างกายและจิตใจ ความเป็นอยู่ในสังคม ซึ่งสำหรับบุคลากรในโรงเรียนหรือบุคลากรทางการศึกษา โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ ศึกษาการปฏิบัติงานในหน้าที่ของบุคลากรทางการศึกษา ความพึงพอใจในการปฏิบัติงานที่ได้รับมอบหมาย สัมพันธภาพกับบุคลากรในโรงเรียน การได้รับการสนับสนุนทางสังคม และสุขภาพจิต ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ได้ศึกษาบุคลากรทางการศึกษา ซึ่งประกอบด้วย ผู้บริหารสถานศึกษา ข้าราชการครู และคณาจารย์ ในด้านสุขภาพจิตสามารถส่งผลเสียต่อสุขภาพร่างกายและจิตใจ และส่งผลกระทบต่อประสิทธิภาพในการทำงาน เพราะบุคลากรทางการศึกษา เป็นอาชีพหนึ่งที่เสี่ยงต่อภาวะความเครียดจากการทำงาน และยังมีปัจจัยด้านการทำงาน ด้านสภาพแวดล้อม ด้านความสัมพันธ์กับเพื่อนผู้ร่วมงาน ด้านผู้บังคับบัญชา ด้านครอบครัว และด้านความกดดันภายในตนเอง สิ่งเหล่านี้ส่งผลต่อความเสี่ยงที่บุคลากรทางการศึกษาจะเกิดความเครียด นอกจากนี้ความเครียดในการปฏิบัติงานส่งผลให้บุคลากรทางการศึกษาขาดความรู้ความเข้าใจในแนวทางการเรียนรู้ของนักเรียน ซึ่งทำให้มีผลกระทบต่อนักเรียน ดังนั้น จึงต้องมีการจัดระบบ และการปรับทิศทางภาวะสุขภาพจิต เพื่อที่สามารถรับมือกับสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้น จึงจำเป็นต้องเตรียมความพร้อมทั้งทางด้านพัฒนา ด้านสุขภาพจิต และบริบทสิ่งแวดล้อมรอบตัวที่ส่งผลต่อภาวะสุขภาพจิตของบุคลากรทางการศึกษา

Mental health is defined by the World Health Organization as a component of health which means that health must be in perfect condition, both physical and mental well-being in society for school personnel or educational personnel. This article aimed to discuss the significance of mental health in relation to the performance of duties of educational personnel, satisfaction with the assigned tasks, relationship with school personnel, social support and mental health. The scope of this paper is on school personnel consisting of school administrators, government officials and other teachers in the aspect of mental health which can have a negative impact on physical and mental health. Mental health also has impact on work efficiency because career in education is at risk of stress from work. Other work factors include environmental working factors, relationship with colleagues, the aspects of superiors, the family and the pressure within oneself. Educational personnel may be affected by these risks. In addition, work stress often results in the lack of knowledge and understanding of the educational personnel on the students' learning approaches, thus affecting the students’ learning processes. Therefore, there is a need for educational personnel to organize and learn to adjust to mental health. In order to be able to cope with what happened, it is necessary to prepare and develop mental health and environmental contexts that affect the mental health status of educational personnel.
